About Cap Normandy

Cap Normandy is a company founded in 2010 by Lucie HOFFMANN.

After studying languages and history at Caen University, Lucie took her first steps as a guide employed by the Caen Memorial Museum. For four years, she provided tours for school groups and holiday makers to the D-Day beaches and the Memorial museum.
Following this very rewarding and formative first experience, Lucie’s curiosity and interest in architecture and the Middle Ages led her to work for Normandy Sightseeing Tours in Bayeux, giving her an opportunity to widen her horizon. To her extensive knowledge of the D-Day landing sectors, she added Giverny, Mont Saint Michel and towns such as Bayeux, Rouen, Honfleur, Etretat, Saint-Malo and Paris …
Willing to strengthen further her skills and learn from her peers, Lucie took a year out to study for the French National Tour Guide Diploma, which she passed in 2008.
Freshly graduated, she was offered a position with the Bayeux Tourist Office as Head of the department of Tourist Guides.
After a year or so, Lucie was ready to spread her wings and created Cap Normandy in early 2010.
Highly praised by educational travel specialists, and by her private clientele, Lucie desired to combine her love of nature and the environment, with her work as a guide.
In early 2011, Cap Normandy quite naturally began to offer hiking breaks and developed a tour enabling hikers to discover the region and its gastronomy, in partnership with the company Lithosphere in Caen.
Cap Normandy is pleased to offer a range of simple, educational and friendly tours, inspired by the personality of its founder member!
